INTRODUCTION OF A NEW TWO-PIECE BOOM WITH OFFSET FOR THE MECALAC 6MCR EXCAVATOR
EVOLUTION
Mecalac is pleased to announce the availability for order of a new two-piece boom with offset for our 6MCR excavator.
With this configuration the stick cylinder is located above the boom, not below the stick as it is on the usual Mecalac boom. This boom and stick feature the same overall length and kinematics as the Mecalac boom.
This boom and stick remain compatible with the use of loader buckets and pallet forks.
CUSTOMER BENEFIT
- • Greater opening angle between the boom and stick (stick out +14%, stick in +24%)
- • Faster stick in and out movements
- • +25% tear out force
- • A 120mm (4.72 in) shorter front swing radius
These benefits translate into the optimum solution for basic digging / truck loading applications.
On the contrary, the Mecalac boom remains the preferred option for customers looking for maximum versatility with greater lifting and loading force.
The overall working envelope is also very similar with:
- • +180mm (7 in) reach,
- • +80mm (3.15 in) digging depth and dump height.
This 2-piece boom configuration is integrated in the standard machine; there is no additional cost compared to the Mecalac boom and the public price.
