MECALAC TEAM MEMBER COMMUNICATION

Dear Colleagues


We hope that you and your families are all well.
In order to maintain contact during the coronavirus epidemic, we have created a Newsletter dedicated to our employees. This will now be available on our website and will be updated regularly.
We would encourage you to consult the website and this Newsletter regularly.


Groupe Mecalac:

Alexandre Marchetta will be remaining at the office.
The Board (made up of Corinne, Henri, Alexandre, Grégory and Eric) are web meeting daily and each of them remains available via the usual contact details. Do not hesitate to call any of the Management Team at your particular business entity for any additional information or assistance for you or your family. These Management Teams are in permanent contact with the Board and will obtain a response to your enquiries.


Mecalac France and Mecalac Hydromo:

The factory has been partially closed since 18 March 2020. We are finishing and shipping the final machines, work we are carrying out whilst respecting the government’s recommended safety measures.
A reduced department remains on site for spare parts and technical assistance.
All departments, where possible to do so, have moved to working from home.
The partial lay-off is applicable to Production team members with the exception of certain departments, in particular Finance and Human Resources. This will also apply over the coming days to certain office staff. An announcement will be made to the relevant teams by their Head of Department.


Mecalac Construction Equipment UK :

The factory has been partially closed since 25 March 2020. A reduced team have been maintained on site for spare parts and technical assistance.
All departments where possible to do so, moved to working from home on 20 and 23 March.
A partial lay-off has been put in place.


Mecalac Baumaschinen:

The business is located in one of the areas of Germany affected by coronavirus to a lesser extent.
Safety measures have been put in place to protect our teams.
Working from home has partially been put in place in certain departments.
Dealers have been requested to plan for and place their spare parts orders as soon as possible, in order to build up their reserve stocks. In addition the German law will impose a total closure of the site if the level of infections in the region of Büdelsdorf exceeds a certain level.


Mecalac Ahlmann Service:

The Mecalac Ahlmann Service team continues its teleworking activity.


Mecalac Turkey:

The business is continuing to operate normally. Precautionary measures have been taken in order to reduce the number of people per team and to avoid close proximity to each other whilst working.
Nevertheless transport is difficult to find and prices for transportation out of Turkey have escalated significantly.
Mecalac Turkey is continuing shipments of 6MCR to Mecalac North America et Mecalac Polska. They are also building up supplies of finished goods in order to plan for the return to production at the other manufacturing sites in due course.


Mecalac Group Services:

The employees of this business entity are working from home. They continue to provide the necessary support to the factories.
A partial lay-off will possibly be put in place for this business depending on the evolving situation and the level of workload.


Mecalac IDF:

The business activity has slowed down, but it continues to provide a service to its customers.
One Sales team member is working daily, on rotation with colleagues, as well as two After Sales team members at the plant. The Spare Parts department continues to operate.
The Sales Administration and Warranty departments are working from home.
A partial lay-off has been implemented for a number of employees.


Mecalac Italia:

The Mecalac Italia team continues its teleworking activity.


Mecalac Polska:


Activity remains at an average level for the moment despite national containment measures.


Mecalac North America :

The Area Sales Managers as well as the administration team are working from home.
Shipping of spare parts and machines continues.
The three French colleagues who work for MNA have returned to France, in order to ensure they receive the appropriate medical assistance in the eventuality that they become infected by coronavirus.
The business remains positive and buoyant in particular with regards to the very favorable follow up received from Conexpo.


Conclusion :

Our priority is the safety of our employees. The continuation of a minimum business activity is essential for our customers, but equally for the eventual return to our operations.
The Management Teams are working on the plans for the re-start of business operations, in order to be ready when the time comes. We are, of course, taking all the necessary steps so that the return to normal operations takes place without any health risks. We will keep you informed about the planned return to normal working.
