Porta d'accesso a una nuova efficienza più redditizia, il 12MSX consente di fare di più rispetto a un tradizionale escavatore da 10 t al costo più basso per la Serie 12. Mantiene la stessa struttura del 12MTX, la stessa compattezza (2710 mm di diametro di rotazione), la stessa benna pala da 0,75m³ e può sollevare fino a 4t a 360°. Il suo motore da 55 kW (75 hp) non richiede l'uso del fluido per motori diesel (AdBlue®).
